***FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE***
JCLGO ANNOUCES HEADLINERS FOR
7TH ANNUAL LGBT PRIDE FESTIVAL INCLUDING
#1 BILLBOARD DANCE ARTIST JASON WALKER
Jersey
City Lesbian + Gay Outreach (JCLGO) is proud to announce that Junior
Vasquez Music’s #1 Billboard Dance Artist Jason
Walker will perform at the Jersey City LGBT Pride Festival, which takes
place on Saturday, Aug. 25., noon – 8 pm on the waterfront at Exchange Place.
Jason Walker, Junior Vasquez Music’s #1 Billboard Dance Artist, will
be performing hits from his brand new album Flexible, which is available
on iTunes and will be in stores on Aug. 21.
Also coming to the Jersey City Pride Festival stage will be Brian Kent.
Brian has been conquering the dance world with his single “I'm Not Crazy”,
which spent over 15 weeks on LOGO TV’s “The Click List”. His first full-length
album Breathe Life will be released in September.
Miss Angelina, The Sassy Lady Rapper, will be also performing her sounds of Latin, Bollywood, Arabic, Reggae, Hip Hop, and Electronic all fused together. Along with her sultry back-up singers and dancers, The
Jersey Girls, she will tantalize the Jersey City crowd.
Independent recording artist and political activist Corey Andrew has also been confirmed to perform. Andrew, a local Jersey City resident, recently gained national notoriety for exposing the homophobic and racist comments of a US Army recruiter.
Sister Funk, one of the nation’s hottest, all-female bands, will
continue to rock the Exchange Place Plaza. Sister Funk has been compared
to artists like The Pussy Cat Dolls, Scissor Sisters and Maroon.
Local Jersey City artists Nekked will also perform. Nekked, who
are songwriters, performers, and boyfriends—JC and Sinn—will perform their
blend of folk and electronica.
The event will be hosted by Jersey City’s own explosive spoken word artist Dujuana
Sharese and Miss Gay New Jersey 2006 Lady Marisa. The festival will conclude with an open-air dance party at 6:00 pm with DJ
LikeWize.
Many more national and regional artists will perform during the festival. For a complete entertainment lineup go to www.jclgo.org.
